Mandatory Fees & Utilities

In addition to base rent, consider these mandatory operational and residential costs enforced as of 2026.

Housing Fee (Dubai Municipality)

A 5% fee calculated on your annual rent is added to your monthly DEWA (utility) bill. This applies to both residential and commercial premises.

ILOE Insurance

The Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) scheme now requires a mandatory 2-year upfront payment upon visa renewal or issuance for all employees in 2026.
