The Law Explained
Rental increases in Dubai are governed by Decree No. (43) of 2013. The landlord must provide 90 days notice before the contract expiration if they intend to increase the rent.
If your rent is within 10% of the market average, no increase is allowed.
If your rent is 11-20% below market average, 5% is the maximum increase.
If your rent is 21-30% below market average, 10% is the maximum increase.
If your rent is 31-40% below market average, 15% is the maximum increase.
If your rent is more than 40% below market average, 20% is the maximum increase.
