The KHDA Rating System
Every private school in Dubai is inspected annually by the KHDA (Knowledge and Human Development Authority). They provide a public rating that directly impacts the school's reputation and its ability to increase fees.

Curriculum Options
With over 200 schools, you can find almost any curriculum in Dubai. The most popular are:
UK (National Curriculum for England)
Following GCSE and A-Level pathways. This is the most common curriculum in Dubai and is highly regarded for its structured approach.
IB (International Baccalaureate)
A world-renowned enquiry-based curriculum. Popular for families who may relocate again globally, as the IB standard is consistent worldwide.
US (American Curriculum)
Following Common Core standards and leading to High School Diploma and AP (Advanced Placement) courses.
School Fees & Budgeting
Schooling is a significant expense. Fees vary wildly depending on the age of the child and the rating of the school.
When to Apply?
The school year in Dubai starts in September. For top-tier "Outstanding" schools, applications should ideally be submitted by January/February. Some schools have waitlists that span over a year, so early enquiry is essential.
Required Documentation
You will need the child's last two years of school reports, attested birth certificates, and the Emirates ID of both the child and one parent. Most schools will require an entrance assessment or "taster day" before an offer is made.
